My friends and I decided to check out Pan De Vida Cafe for the first time. It's a restaurant that is tucked away in Evans Mills. So unless you drive around or Pan De Vida is recommended to you by word of mouth, you might not think about stopping here for a bite to eat. I'm glad that we took a chance and stopped by to eat here. Our food was quickly prepared and we were served in timely manner. During our first visit, my friends and I ordered the Sautéed Steak with Yellow Rice, the Mango BBQ Pork Sandwich, the Tripleta with White Rice, a Small Side of Sweet Plantains, and Pork Empanadas. The food was all very tasty. So, if you are looking for a new place to check out while you are stationed at Fort Drum or visiting Evans Mills. I recommend giving Pan De Vida Cafe a chance.

Delicious and always fresh food! If you can get someone on the phone, good luck... my only complaint!! They are so hard to get in touch with. The alcupurrias are amazing, and the mofongo is the bomb.

Awesome restaurant for authentic Caribbean Food. Everything is good, but I liked the variety with the combo plates with the macaroni salad.

For me, what stood out the most was how upbeat and friendly the servers are. Living up here, there isn't much variety as far as food goes so when we heard about this place we made it a point to get there! It's a decent sized space and you seat yourself. There are a few other rooms available (I guess they're used for parties?) The menu has a good amount of variety with, of course, the staples. Roasted pork, empanadas, pasteles, rice and beans, mofongo, chicken, etc. We had the empanadas sampler, tostones-and I had the beef with rice and beans with plantains. The food came out hot and fresh and the taste was worth the drive from Canton (about an hour- which is good for north country lol). This is a family run restaurant and they are very friendly and upbeat. The mother (and I guess the one cooking in the back) made sure to come out and speak with us which I thought was a very nice gesture. The prices are fair for the amount of food you get and I love the Goya drinks ( they have Malta and pineapple soda:-))
